It is one of the endemic species of Anatolia.
Because they produce low-frequency sounds, they may not be noticed in their area for years. The tassels on their ears enhance their hearing, and their sharp eyes help them find prey. They are carnivorous. Although they generally feed on hoofed creatures, they can also feed on small mammals.
